An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Simulation Engineer (f/m/d) to join Rolls-Royce Electrical in Munich.

Rolls-Royce Electrical (RRE) is responsible for developing world class electrical technologies and products, as well as the associated integrated power generation and propulsion turnkey systems. RRE is rapidly extending the company's capability in the electrical domain and will play an increasingly important role in all our businesses as we move forward towards our Net Zero goal.

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic domain experts who are willing to join us and contribute to this unique technology and product development journey for electrical power management systems.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible to create, improve and maintain system simulations for innovative aerospace propulsion systems

• Qualitative evaluation of relevant design parameters to optimize system architectures and components

• Evaluation and visualization of huge amounts of data with scripting software

• Implementation and adaption of optimization algorithms

• Strategic development of modular simulation models and interfaces

• Validation and verification of simulation models with development and test teams

• Adaption of simulation models to meet special project and business requests

• Close collaboration with partners

Qualifications and experience

• University degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, aerospace engineering, natural sciences or an equivalent technical university degree

• Professional experience in area of design, simulation and analysis of hybrid-electric propulsion systems ideally in the aviation industry

• Good understanding in the use of simulation tools and methods, ideally Matlab, Simulink, Simscape and script languages (e.g. Python)

• Some working knowledge of electric drivetrain components e.g. electric machines, power electronics and high voltage batteries

• Interdisciplinary experience in the fields of electric, mechanic and thermal design
  Ideally basic experience in requirement engineering

• Excited to go new ways and to work in a team on innovative and disruptive solutions

• Fluent English
