For our location in Kleve or Utrecht we are looking for a

(Senior) Systems Engineer (Hybrid Infrastructure) (m/f/d)

Your Role - meaningful, impactful, and futureoriented

As a (Senior) Systems Engineer (Hybrid Infrastructure), you ensure that our systems and platforms remain reliable, secure, and ready for the future.

You contribute your technical expertise and your problemsolving mindset, support colleagues as a trusted escalation point, and help us continuously evolve our hybrid infrastructure landscape.

You will report directly to the Infrastructure Operations Manager and collaborate closely with our Cloud and Platform teams.

What you'll do:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain hybrid Azure and on-prem infrastructure environments

  • Administer Windows Server and Linux systems to ensure stability and performance

  • Manage and support VMware vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter, networking)

  • Monitor infrastructure health, investigate alerts, and proactively resolve issues

  • Support Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity-related services

  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex operational incidents

  • Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures

  • Work closely with Engineering teams to support platform reliability and deployments

  • Maintain accurate operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and system reliability

What we're looking for:

Core Experience

  • Several years of experience in infrastructure operations or system administration

  • Strong hands-on experience operating Windows Server environments

  • Solid experience supporting VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter)

  • Experience monitoring enterprise infrastructure and responding to alerts and incidents

  • Experience working in hybrid or cloud-connected environments (Azure preferred)

  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

  • Experience working with monitoring tools and operational dashboards

  • Experience with ticketing systems, incident management, and on-call support

  • Strong understanding of operational best practices and system reliability

  • Clear and effective communication skills and ability to work closely with engineering teams

Nice to have (not required)

  • Experience with Veeam or enterprise backup platforms

  • Linux server administration experience

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes (AKS or on-prem)

  • Basic scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash)

  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code or automation tools
