Group Lead, Engineering
So, What's the role all about?
As an Engineering Manager at NiCE Cognigy, you will lead a high-performing team of engineers and drive business impact through effective execution, people management, and strategic decision-making.
Lead, mentor and coach a cross-functional team of software and QA engineers to achieve their full potential
Set performance expectations, establish goals, and conduct regular assessments for each team member
Provide resources and growth opportunities to continuously improve engineers' skills Work proactively to remove obstacles blocking engineers from achieving their objectives
Set up organisational structures and processes that enable fast flow and scalability
Work closely with the Product Owner and Tech Lead to shape and drive Sprint Goals, covering new features, bug fixes, and continuous improvements
Drive cross-team and cross-role collaborations to ensure seamless feature delivery
Own HR Management tasks including recruitment, remuneration, career planning and long-term vacation planning
You are a people-first leader with a passion for building great teams and delivering exceptional results. You bring technical credibility combined with strong leadership and communication skills, and you are energised by helping engineers grow while driving meaningful business impact.
Previous experience leading and managing cross functional software engineering teams of more than 6 people Clear communication and conflict resolution skills

Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically
You thrive in dynamic environments and can effectively manage shifting priorities
Able to clearly communicate both technical and non-technical direction

Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire team members
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
Solid technical background and experience in software engineering
You use AI tools (e.g. Claude, GitHub Copilot) in your day-to-day work and understand their value across engineering, communication, planning, and leadership tasks
