Summary

This position is located at USAG Wiesbaden - MWR, Wiesbaden Entertainment Center, Wiesbaden, Germany.

Duties

Help

  • Performs a variety of tasks performing several steps or sequences of tasks that require attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
  • In accordance with current menu, prepares and combines fruits and vegetables for salads. Makes simple sandwiches and performs other simple food preparation.
  • Responsible for proper slicing of deli meats and cheeses and cutting of fruits and vegetables for garnish.
  • In accordance with customer's orders, processes and organizes food, arranges garnishes, checks for appearance, quality and quantity and ensures proper presentation in accordance with set standards.
  • Operates a cash register. Cleans kitchen utensils, pots, pans, storage containers, as well as sweeping and mopping the floor. Restocks storeroom, walk in refrigerator/freezer, front line refrigerators, freezers, coolers, and dry goods.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverage at the time of appointment, if applicable.
  • Certificate of Medical Examination required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and MWR Special Events.


Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  1. Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
  2. Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and/or nonalcoholic beverages.
  3. Have the ability to follow oral and written instructions in English and possess basic math skills.

Area of Consideration

  • The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is within the local commuting area. The local commuting area defined as within 100 km (60 miles) of Wiesbaden, Germany. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP), Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) and Family Member Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

Allowances and Differentials

  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), incentives and differentials will not be paid.
