Our client is a European start-up specializing in electronic warfare, secure communications, and precision localization technologies for the defense sector.

Key points of the position:

Reporting to the engineering leadership, you will design and optimize the RF architecture of advanced defense systems, from theoretical modeling to physical hardware implementation.

As an RF Engineer, your missions will include:

• Designing, simulating, and optimizing custom antennas and the full RF frontend (power amplifiers, impedance matching networks),
• Managing broadband signal up- and down-conversion to maximize system efficiency and range,
• Developing hardware strategies supporting Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) and Low Probability of Detection (LPD),
• Designing RF systems under strict Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) constraints for compact embedded platforms,
• Ensuring reliable RF performance in complex environments with dense digital electronics and strict power limitations,
• Performing RF simulations using electromagnetic modeling tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, ADS) to evaluate S-parameters and radiation patterns,
• Validating designs in laboratory environments using measurement tools such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and anechoic chambers,
• Supporting compliance and certification processes including CE, RED, and EMC/EMV standards.

Necessary skills:

• You must have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field,
• You have strong expertise in RF engineering, including antenna design and RF frontend architecture,
• Experience in defense, aerospace, telecommunications, or similar high-frequency environments is strongly appreciated,
• You have practical experience with electromagnetic simulation tools and high-frequency PCB design,
• You are comfortable combining simulation work with hands-on laboratory testing and tuning,
• You have experience supporting EMC testing and certification processes such as CE or RED,
• Fluent English is required and strong German skills are highly beneficial.
• Eligibility for German security clearance : German or EU country citizenchip is mandatory.

Salary: 80k-120k
