Our client is a European start-up specializing in electronic warfare, secure communications, and precision localization solutions for the defense sector.

Key points of the position:

Reporting to the leadership team, you will drive commercial development and guide advanced defense technologies through complex public procurement and industry partnership processes.

As a Business Development & Bid Manager, your missions will include:

  • Managing the full bid lifecycle for public tenders (national, EU, NATO) and commercial offers for industry partners and Prime contractors,
  • Identifying upcoming procurement opportunities and proactively engaging with stakeholders to shape future requirements,
  • Building strong relationships with procurement authorities, end users, and major defense industry players,
  • Representing the company at defense exhibitions, conferences, and industry events,
  • Structuring and coordinating winning proposals by translating complex technical inputs into compelling commercial offers,
  • Developing pricing models and cost calculations, ensuring compliance with German public pricing regulations (Preisrecht, LSP),
  • Coordinating internal contributions from engineering, finance, operations, and leadership teams.

Necessary skills:

  • You must have proven experience in Business Development, Sales, or Bid Management,
  • Experience in defence, security, or government sectors is strongly appreciated,
  • You ideally bring an existing network within the defence ecosystem (e.g., procurement authorities, military branches, defence Primes),
  • You have strong commercial acumen and are comfortable working with complex pricing models and bid calculations,
  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and can present complex technical systems to diverse stakeholders,
  • You are structured, strategic, and able to drive complex topics to completion with a strong sense of ownership,
  • Fluent German and English are imperative.
  • Eligibility for German security clearance (SÜ2/Ü2) is required.

Salary: 70-105k euros gross annual.
