Gardener (Hanover War Cemetery)

Location: Mobile role. You mustbe within a reasonable commute of Hanover War Cemetery.
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: € 32,000 - 40,000 perannum, pro rata, depending on skills and experience.
Hours: Full Time, Mo-Fr, 39 Hours weekly

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) honours the 1.7 million men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the First and Second World Wars, ensuring they will never be forgotten.

Our work commemorates the war dead, from building and maintaining our cemeteries and memorials at 23,000 locations in more than 150 countries to preserve our extensive records and archives. Our values and aims, laid out in 1917, are as relevant now as they were 100 years ago.

Main Responsibilities:

Assist thelocal team with maintenance tasks such as weed removal, mowing, hedge cutting,and general green space maintenance.

You will be able to demonstrate
  • Successful completion of the gardening examination (apprenticeship certificate)
  • Manual skills
  • Ability to learn the Commission's Horticultural Practices and CWGC Hort Modules
  • Effective communication skills
  • Sense of service delivery
  • Health and Safety Responsibility for self
