We have ~250 employees across our six offices (in the UK, US, Germany, and France). Our Munich office opened in 2021 and has since grown to include a close-knit team of almost 15 consultants. We are continuously hiring additional team members to accelerate our growth.

Key Responsibilities

This role provides a unique opportunity to help lead CIL's Munich office and grow your own career. As an Engagement Manager, you'll work closely with our local leadership team to drive business growth and deliver outstanding strategic insights for our clients. You'll lead strategy projects for a mixture of private equity and corporate clients, the aim of which is to provide our clients with robust, actionable advice that influences critical investment and commercial decisions. Responsibilities of the role include:
  • End-to-end project management of large projects by designing the project framework, conducting reliable, detailed analysis, and supporting junior team members overcome any roadblocks in their workstreams;
  • Emerging specialisms in a sector, sub-sector or capability, and will provide integral support to the sales team in that area, both through formal pitches and developing & growing their own professional networks;
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members as a CIL Career Manager, holding informal catch ups and running twice yearly reviews and additional meetings where required; and
  • Supporting with CIL's internal operations - all Engagement Managers are expected to lead an internal training module, act as a reliable interviewer in latter-stage Analyst recruitment processes and support other operational streams where needed.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Drive to contribute to developing and growing a scale-up office.
  • Experience managing project teams at a leading strategy consultancy.
  • Experience in due diligence and strategy work.
  • Interest in working with leading PE businesses.
  • Strong stakeholder management.
  • Strong analytical & quantitative skills.
  • Business proficiency in English and German is required, with other languages an advantage.

  • Sector experience or interest in industrial products & services would be preferred but not essential.
