Job description
As Test Engineer, you perform system-level testing for standard and custom hardware and software systems. You develop new test cases and evaluate the test equipment required to perform quality checks.
You will work on an aircraft connectivity solution that integrates hardware and software components to provide broadband and operational data services on board. The role involves system integration testing of networked equipment and interfaces in a regulated aviation environment.
Work location: Bavaria, Germany (Munich area). This role requires on-site presence in the test lab 5 days per week. Home office is only possible upon request and when work allows (e.g., requirements work).
Contract type: Initially fixed-term (limited in time), with the possibility of extension and conversion to an unlimited/permanent contract.
But what else? (advantages, specificities, etc.)
- Perform integration testing of aircraft networked equipment and interfaces (e.g., Ethernet/IP and avionics data interfaces) and support troubleshooting across hardware, software, and configuration
- Analyze logs and test evidence, reproduce field issues, and collaborate with development and stakeholders to drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support software/configuration loading and regression testing on test benches and representative systems, and help maintain test environments and fixtures
- Validate configurations and customer-specific adaptations of our products for different aircraft types
- Maintain and develop production and test tools as part of our aeronautical hardware platform
- Recommend corrective actions for procedural, product, or process deficiencies
- Continuously contribute to improving established testing processes
Candidate skills & requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field
- Experience in testing embedded systems
- Knowledge of test process optimization and selection of appropriate test methods is a plus
- Very Good working knowledge of Linux Debian, Bash, Command-line and Python
- IP networking skills (routing, switching, firewalls, network services, tcpdump/Wireshark)
- Experience in aviation and familiarity with aviation standards (e.g., DO-178C) are a plus
- Familiarity with aircraft connectivity / satcom concepts and testing of networked avionics or cabin systems is a plus
- Knowledge of common aviation interface standards and data loading concepts (e.g., ARINC 429, ARINC 615A) is a plus
- Experience with network diagnostics and management interfaces (e.g., VLAN concepts, SNMP, REST APIs) is a plus
