Job description
Role Overview
The MCA Team Leader is responsible for coordinating Safran production activities related to the installation and assembly of the basic wiring harness across all configurations of the H145 helicopter.
Based at the Safran Donauwörth site, located on Airbus Helicopters premises, the Team Leader manages and leads a production team of up to 25 technicians and operators. The role ensures safe, compliant, and on-time production delivery while driving performance, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of up to 25 technicians and operators
• Foster effective teamwork and a collaborative working environment
• Manage team conflicts constructively and decisively
• Assign tasks in line with aircraft production schedules and priorities
• Ensure knowledge transfer and onboarding support for new team members
• Ensure discipline, adherence to procedures, and performance standards
Operations & Quality
• Guarantee adherence to schedules and lead-times
• Monitor and ensure full production traceability
• Complete daily internal and customer progress tracking systems
• Achieve production performance and yield targets defined by the Production
Manager
• Monitor and control access requests and related records
• Lead and animate SQCDP routines
• Drive compliance with Quality standards and processes
• Ensure adherence to FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention rules
• Ensure strict application of HSE and 5S standards
• Know and apply Quality and HSE policies relevant to the position
• Report technical non-conformities (NC), definition issues, or malfunctions
• Escalate management-related issues when necessary
Communication & Improvement
• Communicate effectively with Safran and Airbus management
• Prepare and deliver concise progress summaries and reports
• Promote transparent upward and cross-functional communication
• Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives
• Promote operational excellence and performance optimization
• Support the achievement of site-level objectives
Candidate skills & requirements
Qualifications & Experience
• Technical degree (preferably in aerospace, electrical engineering, or related field)
• Experience in aerospace production, ideally in electrical wiring installation
• Solid understanding of customer service in an industrial environment
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and convince teams
• Proven conflict-resolution skills and assertiveness
• Solution-oriented mindset and ability to perform under high workload
• Good understanding of the trades represented within the team
• Strong communication skills
• Fluency in English and German is an advantage
