About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Technischer Manager / Lead Engineer to take overall technical responsibility for the architecture, design, and integration of complex automated systems. This role combines strategic system ownership with hands-on technical leadership in a technology-driven and regulated environment.

You will lead interdisciplinary engineering teams and ensure the successful delivery of high-performance, compliant, and scalable system solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Overall responsibility for system architecture, technical design, and integration of complex automated systems
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and further develop an interdisciplinary engineering team (mechanics, electronics, embedded software, system integration, testing)
  • Systems Engineering: Ensure functional, technical, and safety requirements throughout the full development lifecycle
  • Agile Governance: Implement and optimize agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with project management, production, procurement, QA, and external development partners
  • Technology Evaluation: Assess and integrate emerging technologies in automation, sensor technology, intelligent control systems, and digital networking
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulatory requirements (ISO, MIL, or comparable industrial standards)
  • Mentoring & Culture: Support team growth and foster a performance-oriented engineering culture

Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the development of complex technical systems, ideally in regulated or high-tech environments
  • Strong expertise in automation and control engineering, systems engineering, and digital system integration
  • Proven experience leading interdisciplinary engineering teams
  • Experience in agile development environments (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Coach certifications are a plus)
  • Structured, solution-oriented mindset with strong accountability
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)
  • Willingness to undergo security clearance in accordance with legal requirements
