The Professorship of Empirical Economics & Data Science at the TUM School of Management, Campus Heilbronn-part of the Heilbronn Data Science Center-is seeking two highly motivated Student Assistants to support research and teaching activities, starting as soon as possible (8-20 hours per week).
Who We Are We are an international research group working at the forefront of empirical economics, data science, and artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on causal AI. Your Role As a Student Assistant, you will:
- Support empirical research projects (e.g., data collection, preparation, and analysis)
- Conduct literature reviews and prepare research materials
- Apply statistical and programming tools to real-world datasets
- Contribute to academic outputs and ongoing research activities
- Support the organization of workshops, seminars, and conferences
- Help build and maintain collaborations with industry partners
- Are enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program with a quantitative focus (e.g., management & data science, economics, statistics, information engineering, or a related field)
- Have completed initial coursework in quantitative methods and statistics
- Bring programming skills in Python, R, or similar tools (preferred)
- Work in a structured, careful, and independent manner
- Have excellent English skills (written and spoken)
- Close collaboration with an ambitious, international research team
- Hands-on involvement in cutting-edge research at the intersection of AI and economics
- Early exposure to academic research, publishing, and scientific work
- Flexible working hours compatible with your studies
