Our Excelitas site in Göttingen is the centre of excellence for the development and production of photonics solutions for the semiconductor equipment market. For this highly demanding market, the Göttingen site supplies highly complex opto-mechanical modules, subsystems and components for applications in lithography, wafer inspection, chip bonding and packaging.

In addition, this site manufactures and supplies a broad range of optical and mechanical components, including complete optical systems, to support scientific research and development as well as industrial production.

Your Responsibilities

  • Setup, alignment, and operation of optical and opto-electronic experimental setups


  • Conducting measurements and experiments (e.g., beam characterization, interferometry, spectroscopy)


  • Documentation, evaluation, and interpretation of measurement results


  • Supporting the development, optimization, and validation of optical systems


  • Operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment


  • Contributing to the preparation of experimental plans, reports, and technical documentation


  • Close collaboration with development engineering teams


Your Profile

  • Completed training as a Physical-Technical Assistant (PTA/CTA) or a bachelor's degree in physics, engineering, or a comparable field


  • Solid knowledge of optical measurement techniques


  • Hands-on laboratory experience


  • Proficient in measurement and data analysis software (e.g., LabVIEW, Python)


  • Careful, structured, and independent working style


  • Strong analytical thinking skills and ability to work in a team


  • Good German skills and ideally good English skills
