Director Functional Excellence - MedTech TechOps Finance (m/f/d)

The Director Functional Excellence (m/f/d) is responsible for ensuring financial governance, compliance, and strategic support across MedTech TechOps.

This role leads the Functional Excellence team, focusing on Reporting & Compliance, MedTech MU OEM Business Partnership, Projects & CAPEX Governance, and Direct Procurement Controlling.

The position acts as a global center of excellence, enabling transparency, standardization, and value-driven decision-making across all TechOps Business Partner areas.

Your Responsibilities:

Direct Procurement and Contract Manufacturing
  • Partner with procurement leadership to drive cost improvement initiatives
  • Drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for direct material procurement
  • Analyze material spend and supplier cost structures to identify savings opportunities
  • Develop business cases for sourcing strategies (e.g., make-or-buy, supplier changes)
  • Create dashboards and KPIs for material cost performance (e.g., PPV, cost savings)
  • Monitor price indices (CPI) and supplier bonus achievements; support sourcing and insourcing initiatives
  • Business Partner for MedTech OEM Business (TCT and INS) with 3 Market Units and related consolidation


Projects & CAPEX Governance
  • Oversee CAPEX planning and approval processes within MedTech TechOps
  • Plan and create profitability calculations for development and production projects
  • Support strategic initiatives and track savings versus budget
  • Ensure timely and accurate project reporting, including milestones and financial impacts


Reporting & Compliance
  • Establish governance for TechOps reporting processes, KPIs, and templates
  • Create standard reports and guidelines for local controllers
  • Prepare and consolidate management reports (Flash Reports, monthly and quarterly reviews)
  • Perform analysis and reporting of deviations, budgets, and forecasts through financial management reports
  • Monitor global inventory and drive Net Working Capital initiatives


Your Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (MBA preferred) or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an international manufacturing environment
  • Strong expertise in CAPEX / Project controlling, procurement finance, and business models
  • Ideally experience in leading and developing teams
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to work
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and SAP modules BW, CO, SEM-BCS; knowledge of the Product Costing module and SAP Analytics Cloud is an advantage
  • Highly proficient in both written and spoken English
