PhD Positions at the Chair of Corporate Management The Chair of Corporate Management at the Technical University of Munich invites applications for two full-time PhD positions (time limited contracts) in the field of financial literacy or sustainability Research Focus The Chair of Corporate Management at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) offers a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment at the intersection of corporate strategy, behavioral economics and personnel economics. The Chair also examines the broader managerial and societal implications of sustainability, including its impact on strategic decision-making. By combining rigorous empirical methods with interdisciplinary perspectives, the goal is to deepen the understanding of how firms can be managed effectively in rapidly evolving technological and competitive environments. Candidates are encouraged to pursue research within this broad thematic scope, depending on their individual interests and strengths. The Chair of Corporate Management at the TUM School of Management is located in the city center of Munich. Our goal is to create value for academia, industry, and policymakers through practice-oriented research and innovative, data-driven solutions. Your Tasks • Contribute to high-quality publications in leading international journals • Present research at international conferences • Teach and contribute to the development of courses within the Bachelor's and Master's programs of the TUM School of Management • Supervise Bachelor's and Master's theses • Collaborate with academic and industry partners • Support administrative and organizational tasks • Engage in project management for the development of a financial literacy application Your Profile • Master's degree in Economics, Data Science, Management, Business and Economics Education or a related field • Background in quantitative or qualitative methods and statistics; experience in causal inference and econometrics is a plus • Programming skills in Python, R, or comparable languages • Strong programming skills in (iOS) app development • Excellent communication skills in English (at least C1) as well as good language skills in German (at least B2 level) • Strong organizational and teamwork skills • Interest in behavioral economics research (e.g., in the areas of financial literacy or sustainability) We Offer • A highly interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment • Opportunities to publish and present at top international venues • Access to a global academic and industry network • Structured training and professional development opportunities • Close collaboration on research topics with the chair leadership and the chair team • Opportunity to work partially from home (upon agreement) Employment Conditions • the PhD positions are full-time funded (TV-L E13) and offered for limited period until 31.05.2028.
