The Energy Marshall plays a pivotal role in managing the control of hazardous energy (LOTO - Lockout/Tagout) during the construction and commissioning of a data centre. This individual ensures all energy isolation processes are implemented safely and in compliance with project procedures, corporate policies, and local regulations.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all activities involving energized systems across the construction site
  • Act as the central authority for hazardous energy control, ensuring compliance across all trades and subcontractors
  • Maintain the Energy Control Plan (ECP) and all related LOTO documentation in line with EHS, ISO, and client requirements
  • Conduct site inspections, address energy-related safety incidents, and lead root cause analyses and corrective actions
  • Provide training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings on energy isolation and LOTO procedures for site personnel
  • Coordinate with contractors, commissioning teams, OEMs, and project stakeholders, and report energy control status to project management and clients

Show your expertise

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Safety Management, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum several years of relevant experience in industrial or data centre construction environments
  • Extensive knowledge of Lockout/Tagout procedures, NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910/1926, and ISO 45001
  • Prior experience with complex commissioning phases and energized equipment isolation
  • Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP) or similar credential preferred
  • Detail-oriented with strong safety focus and risk assessment capability
