Overview

We have a requirement for a talented and flexible EHS Site Advisor for a Pharmaceutical Project in the greater Frankfurt region.

As part of the Site HSE Team, the Advisor assists in ensuring a safe, environmentally sound, audit and emergency readiness at any time. This role assesses site hazards, conducts incident investigations, implements business unit standards.

The HSE Advisor is accountable for implementation and execution of site compliance, risk analysis, continuous improvement and managing incident investigation and corrective action.

Responsibilities

Job Role and Responsibilities will include but not be limited to

  • Promote and maintain a strong, pro-active health & safety culture.
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with Client representatives in relation to all H&S matters.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Integrate the PM Group H&S Policies and Procedures with the Client Site Operating procedures.
  • Integrate and implement PM Group and Client health & safety strategies, programmes and plans in partnership with Group Health and Safety.
  • Communicate and co-ordinate the adoption of industry best practices in health and safety within the execution of Projects.
  • Implement PM Group and Client process of active health and safety monitoring through audits and inspections.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance and challenges using predefined leading and lagging health and safety performance indicators.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety programmes and initiatives designed to continually improve performance.
  • Support the Site Lead and Construction Manager in the execution of health and safety related statutory duties
  • Assist in the co-ordination of the investigation of incidents, ensuring root cause analysis is completed and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Influence employee work practices through dialogue, relationship building and behavioural safety coaching.
  • Co-ordinate the development and delivery of safety training, workshops and awareness briefings in consultation with the Site Lead and Client Representatives.
  • Maintain compliance with PM Group safety management system.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or related field
  • 4+ years of experience overseeing EHS responsibilities at R&D or manufacturing operations
  • CSP (or comparable recognized international safety certification), EIT, PE or relevant certification required.

  • Working experience in country with knowledge of country regulations in addition to regional/local regulations and their applicability.

  • Certification and education to work as site health and safety officer / prevention officer per local regulations

  • Experience in implementing behavioural safety programmes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Fluency in German and English
