Position Overview

The role focuses on the operation, development, and optimization of enterprise platforms for virtual desktops and applications. The position ensures stable, secure, and high-performance delivery of virtualized environments with advanced features including load balancing, user experience enhancements, security measures, and management functionalities.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise management and stakeholders on technical solutions.
• Implement, configure, and continuously optimize Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) environments, including Delivery Controllers, VDAs, StoreFront, provisioning services, and related infrastructure components.
• Support architecture, migration, and transformation projects (e.g., version upgrades, capacity expansion, platform standardization, security hardening).
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational manuals, installation guides, and best-practice guidelines.
• Provide 3rd-level support and troubleshooting for complex issues within CVAD, provisioning services, load balancing, Windows Server, profile management, group policies, and adjacent infrastructure (AD, DNS, PKI, network).
• Operate and optimize provisioning environments (vDisk structures, versioning, performance tuning, error analysis).
• Package, test, and deploy software for virtual environments using SCCM/MECM infrastructures, ensuring image and patch integrity.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell, Desired State Configuration (DSC), and Ansible, supporting transition to target architecture.
• Manage Group Policy Objects, analyzing and optimizing for performance, security, and maintainability.
• Implement security and performance improvements, including hardening measures and load-balancing optimization.
• Support testing, quality assurance, and lifecycle management, including upgrades and release evaluations.
• Collaborate with operations, service management, network, security, and platform teams for project and operational handovers.

Qualifications

• Certification in IT service management (ITIL Foundation) or equivalent.
• English (B1) and German (C1) proficiency.
• Citrix Certified Associate - Virtualization (CCA-V) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year of practical experience in agile project activities.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT concept creation, documentation, and security concept implementation in highly regulated environments.
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating and troubleshooting geo-redundant Citrix environments, including provisioning services, image management, and high-availability operations.
• Minimum 1 year experience in SCCM/MECM infrastructure, device, software, and patch management.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Windows Server administration, terminal services, Active Directory, and related GPO management.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with automation and administration via PowerShell scripting in virtualized environments.
