We are looking for an experienced SAP Functional Manager to join and help grow our SAP practice. This role combines functional leadership, client-facing solution architecture, presales support, and project delivery across SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in SAP Logistics and Supply Chain processes, complemented by a solid understanding of Finance integration points and end-to-end business processes. The role requires a consultative mindset, the ability to engage with clients at both business and technical levels, and the capability to translate business requirements into practical SAP solutions.
The SAP Functional Manager will play a key role in shaping customer opportunities, supporting RFP and proposal activities, leading workshops, and acting as a Solution Architect on transformation programs. As the SAP practice continues to expand, this role is expected to evolve into a functional leadership position with responsibility for mentoring, coordinating, and developing a team of SAP functional consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture & Delivery
- Lead SAP functional solution design for S/4HANA transformation, implementation, and rollout projects.
- Act as Solution Architect on strategic customer engagements and transformation programs.
- Design integrated business solutions across Logistics and Supply Chain processes while ensuring alignment with Finance, Data, Integration, Security, and Analytics workstreams.
- Promote fit-to-standard and clean-core principles in solution design.
- Support clients in defining target architectures, transformation roadmaps, rollout approaches, and operating models.
- Ensure functional solution quality throughout project delivery.
Customer Engagement & Consulting
- Lead customer workshops, discovery sessions, assessments, and design discussions.
- Facilitate business process reviews and identify opportunities for process optimization and standardization.
- Present solution concepts and recommendations to business and IT stakeholders.
- Translate complex SAP topics into clear business value and transformation outcomes.
- Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and project teams.
Presales & Business Development
- Support RFIs, RFPs, proposals, solution estimations, and bid defense activities.
- Collaborate with Sales and Practice leadership to shape SAP opportunities.
- Contribute to solution narratives, scope definition, assumptions, risks, and delivery approaches.
- Participate in customer presentations, solution demonstrations, and executive discussions.
- Identify opportunities to expand and strengthen existing customer engagements.
Practice Development & Leadership
- Contribute to the growth and maturity of the SAP practice.
- Develop and maintain reusable assets, delivery standards, estimation approaches, and best practices.
- Mentor junior and mid-level consultants.
- Support capability development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- As the practice grows, take responsibility for leading and coordinating a pool of SAP functional consultants.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of SAP consulting experience with significant exposure to S/4HANA programs.
- Strong expertise in SAP Logistics and Supply Chain processes, including experience in areas such as SD, MM, PP, EWM, or related modules.
- Solid understanding of Finance integration points and end-to-end business processes.
- Experience acting as a Lead Consultant, Solution Architect, Functional Lead, or similar senior SAP role.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation programs, implementations, or rollouts.
- Knowledge of RISE with SAP and cloud transformation approaches.
- Strong understanding of SAP Activate methodology, fit-to-standard principles, and clean-core architecture.
- Experience leading workshops and engaging directly with customers and senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting presales activities, including proposal development and effort estimation.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of GROW with SAP and SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
- German language skills are strongly preferred
- Experience with SAP BTP, Integration Suite, analytics, or data migration initiatives.
- Exposure to multiple industries and international delivery environments.
- Experience building SAP practice assets, delivery accelerators, templates, or reusable proposal content.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled SAP capabilities and innovation-driven transformation initiatives.
