Job Purpose
The Sales Manager is responsible for managing and growing a strategic customer portfolio of industrial packaging customers whilst developing new business opportunities for the Steinfeld plant.
Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of a strategic customer portfolio, maintaining and further developing strong long-term relationships within the industrial packaging market, with a clear focus on growing share of wallet through sustainable, win-win value creation
- Identify and develop new customers in existing and adjacent markets
- Work closely with customers to understand their business needs and objectives, translating these into new sales opportunities through a collaborative, value-driven approach
- Demonstrate strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working effectively with local, regional, and European colleagues across Sales, Operations, Product Management and R&D
- Proactively identify opportunities for the development of standard or custom-made products and services that support both current requirements and future ambitions on the customer base
Profile:
- Minimum of five years' progressive and successful experience in sales or technical sales, ideally within a comparable industry environment (e.g. packaging, plastics, chemicals, industrial products or similar)
- Proven track record in acquiring new customers and building, expanding, and maintaining long-term business relationships
- Strong sales mindset with high personal drive, resilience, and an entrepreneurial, solution-oriented approach
- Strong communication skills in both German and English
- Willingness to travel regularly within Western Germany and occasionally across Europe to attend customer meetings and industry conferences
- Strong ability and willingness to learn new products, technologies and applications
- Valid driving license (Category B)
- Confident and experienced user of digital sales tools and CRM systems
