Reference: 102_714838_4810242101

Our Power and Low Carbon Solutions practice is looking for a (Senior) Manager (m/w/d) to join the team in Dusseldorf.

Baringa's market leading Power Market Advisory practice works with clients across the energy value chain-utilities, independent power producers, developers, network companies, commodity traders, industrials, investors, policymakers and regulators. We combine deep market, technical, commercial and regulatory expertise to help clients develop projects, deploy capital, and optimize value across the energy transition, including renewables, storage, clean molecules and low carbon infrastructure.

What you will be doing

  • Market & strategy support: Lead market assessments across German and Central European wholesale power, emerging technologies (e.g., renewables, storage, PtX/clean molecules) and business models. Shape strategic recommendations for corporate and investment clients, ensuring analytical robustness and commercial relevance.
  • Quantitative analysis & modelling: Oversee the development and enhancement of complex datasets, models, and analytical frameworks to evaluate market fundamentals, asset revenues and commercial performance for renewables and flexible resources (e.g., batteries, pumped storage, demand response). Provide quality assurance and guide junior team members in bestpractice modelling approaches.
  • Transaction support: Manage and coordinate buy and sellside commercial due diligence processes for renewables, storage and earlystage lowcarbon assets. Drive the identification of value drivers, risks, commercial structures and routetomarket considerations, while steering stakeholder alignment and delivering clear investmentgrade insights.
  • Portfolio & asset insights: Steer analytical work on asset dispatch, hedging concepts, and portfolio optimisation strategies, partnering directly with developers, IPPs and investors. Translate market and asset insights into actionable portfolio and trading strategies.
  • Tenders & auctions: Lead in structuring, pricing and submitting bids for competitive government tenders and auctions in Germany and Central Europe.
  • Client deliverables: Own the development of compelling client deliverables, including executivelevel presentations, memos and dashboards. Ensure that complex analysis is translated into clear, strategic recommendations. Manage project workstreams, coordinate cross-functional teams, and maintain strong client relationships throughout delivery.

Your skills and experience

A well-rounded candidate should demonstrate a balance of strengths across these key areas:

  • Expertise: Deep understanding of the German and Central European power market including market fundamentals, market design policy and regulation and commercial structures.
  • Experience: At least 6 years of experience in management consulting or an internal role focused on Power Market Advisory.
  • Analytical skills: Analytical skills applied to energy market fundamentals, combined with market- and asset modelling.
  • Energy market interest: Willingness to work occasionally in different market contexts and themes, or support model development.
  • Domain exposure: Experience in commercial structures, assessing routes to market for power generation assets and designing business models in energy markets.
  • Project management: The ability to manage projects day-to-day and oversee inputs/outputs from the modelling team.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills and a track record of effective teamwork.
  • Ways of working: The ability to take ownership and deliver results in client-facing environments.
  • Languages: Advanced language skills in German and English required.
