Are you a self-starter with a background in physics or engineering, preferably in the particle or plasma physics domain? Are you passionate about advancing research? Do you enjoy solving technical challenges and working closely with people? If so, read on.

In this role, you will be the primary technical point of contact for research institutions across Central Europe. You will empower them to address their technical and strategic challenges while fostering long-term partnerships. By demonstrating the value of MATLAB and Simulink, you will help drive tool adoption in both research and commercial projects and use your insight to articulate how MathWorks accelerates scientific discovery and research success.

Responsibilities

  1. Plan and strategize. Using data-driven account assessments you develop a strategy to engage with research institutions to increase their tool usage and adoption in engineering and science. Jointly with the other members of the account team you review progress and adapt your plan.
  1. Engage with researchers. You meet and work with customers to address their needs and support integration of our tools in research. Some meetings involve key decision makers who seek your insight and value your connections at other research institutions.
  1. Create a vision for success. Be it in research or through networking activities. It is our mission to make our customers successful by providing sustainable and proven value. And it is up to you to craft a vision to make this happen.
  1. Cultivate champions. Through your customer engagements you establish business relationships with leading researchers. You grow them to become MathWorks advocates at their institution and in the broader research community. Likewise, you advocate on behalf of customers and influence the future of MathWorks offerings.
  1. Foster collaboration. Resourcefulness is a must-have for this role. We will help you ramp up to be successful and to effectively engage other MathWorks teams and external stakeholders to assist in key activities and specialized product areas.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time


Additional Qualifications

  • A relevant MS or PhD in Applied Physics or Engineering
  • Proven working experience with MATLAB & Simulink
  • Experience with a major Physics Research Facility
  • Experience as a researcher
  • Experience in a customer facing technical or marketing role is a plus
  • Strong English language skills (written and spoken) are required. Additional languages are a plus
