The Senior EMEA PR Specialist will lead public relations efforts across Europe (including Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, France, and Italy), driving visibility and credibility for MathWorks among users and decision-makers. This role focuses on building brand awareness for MathWorks, MATLAB, and Simulink through the execution of regional PR strategies aligned with global priorities, managing relationships with top-tier business and technology media, and owning critical Central PR programs, such as spokesperson training. The position requires a strategic communicator who can operate independently while collaborating closely with regional and global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Europe-focused PR plans that align with global PR strategy and business objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with top-tier business and technology media outlets across Europe.
  • Identify and develop localized story angles for regional media.
  • Localize global messaging for regional relevance and cultural nuance.
  • Own and manage critical Central PR programs, including spokesperson media training.
  • Identify infrastructure or operational gaps and build scalable PR programs with global impact.
  • Monitor and report on EMEA PR performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations based on the data.
  • Manage external PR agencies to amplify key messages and thought leadership.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience) is required.


Additional Qualifications

Must-have qualifications
  • Substantial PR experience, ideally in a regional or global role within a technology or engineering-focused organization.
  • Capable of managing multiple complex-scope projects.
  • A proven track record innovating new processes and programs to reflect evolution in the media landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
  • Ability to gather and apply feedback from internal stakeholders.
  • Capable of working independently within a global organization.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Preferred experience and skills
  • Familiarity with analyst relations and media training programs.
  • Understanding of modern social media platforms and how they intersect with traditional PR tactics.
  • Demonstrated creativity and ingenuity in solving complex problems.
  • Experience building and executing data-driven PR content, such as user surveys.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or equivalent professional experience.
