Strategic IT Buyer / Strategischer IT Einkäufer (m/w/d)
Help build the IT backbone of one of Europe's most advanced semiconductor fabs.
At ESMC, we are building a next-generation semiconductor manufacturing site in Dresden - one of Europe's most important high-tech projects.
As Strategic IT Buyer, you will play a key role in establishing the local IT procurement landscape that supports both the construction phase and future fab operations. From IT infrastructure and enterprise software to specialized technical services, your work will directly contribute to the successful ramp-up of our manufacturing environment.
This role combines strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration in a highly international and fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
1. Drive strategic IT sourcing activities: Develop and execute sourcing strategies for IT hardware, software, infrastructure, and services supporting the Dresden site.
2. Build and manage supplier partnerships: Identify, evaluate, and develop local and international suppliers while ensuring sustainable commercial agreements and operational reliability.
3. Lead negotiations and contract management: Drive supplier negotiations, framework agreements, and contract execution in alignment with business and operational requirements.
4. Support the setup of a greenfield manufacturing environment: Collaborate closely with IT, construction, facilities, and global procurement teams to establish efficient procurement processes and support project timelines.
5. Bridge technical and commercial requirements: Translate technical IT needs into commercially viable sourcing solutions while aligning local business requirements with global standards.
6. Monitor market developments and procurement risks: Analyze supplier markets, identify optimization opportunities, and proactively mitigate sourcing and compliance risks.
Job Qualifications
1. Experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, or category management with a focus on IT-related categories.
2. Strong background in supplier management, commercial negotiations, and contract management.
3. Technical understanding of IT infrastructure, software, and service environments.
4. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
5. Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style.
6. Comfortable operating in an international and dynamic project environment.
7. Professional German and English language skills required.
8. Experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, or other high-tech industries is considered a strong advantage.
