Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assume day-to-day delivery responsibility for projects and take on tasks with minimal supervision
- Strengthen service delivery capability and promote knowledge sharing and innovation
- Prepare budget estimates, cost plans, client reports, and provide risk and value management
- Undertake contract administration including valuations, forecasts, cost reports, and project meetings
- Prepare bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and other methods of work evaluation
- Deliver all work outputs accurately, on time, and to a high-quality standard
- Manage delivery through proactive involvement and performance management of personnel
- Ensure service delivery is in accordance with Practice policies, particularly Health & Safety and Quality Assurance
- Comply with client corporate governance procedures where applicable
- Support bid and tender preparation, business development, and client relationship development
- Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development and continuous improvement
- Administer change control processes and provide advice on procurement and contracts
- Prepare and evaluate tenders, contractor selection, and contract documentation
- Support strategic initiatives at service and sector level
- Assist in leadership, resolving conflicts, and mentoring and coaching team members
Knowledge & Skills Required
The ability to:
- Deliver results in a client-facing role and confidently respond to client requests, escalating when required
- Provide innovative solutions and show resilience in complex challenges
- Support stakeholder management and deal diplomatically with a wide range of stakeholders
- Demonstrate flexibility, integrity, and strong leadership skills
- Lead, motivate, and manage teams including the supply chain
- Manage conflicting priorities, organise workloads, and work in a high-pressure environment
Preferred Education and Experience
- Ideally degree qualified in construction, cost management, engineering, quantity surveying, or RICS-accredited discipline
- MRICS or equivalent qualification or experience
- 5+ years' experience
- Strong knowledge of construction industry technical matters
- Good experience with JCT and NEC contracts
- Strong pre- and post-contract cost management skills
- Strong communication, IT, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing people and delivering multiple or complex projects
- Energetic, motivated, innovative, and able to adapt to change
- Ability to think clearly, make reasoned decisions, and explain logic
