Job Description

The Nokia Nuremberg R&D team is developing next generation optical transport systems for metro as well as core networks. You will be part of the System Verification organization responsible for quality assurance of transport products developed by the Optical Networks R&D teams. Close cooperation with other groups like Product Management, System Engineering, HW and SW development, and customer support at several sites worldwide is part of daily work.

To deliver our optical products to customers with functionality matching their expectations and with highest quality a full-scale verification of the system comprising HW and SW is conducted.

A steadily increasing product functionality is provided by the R&D organization through a continuous flow of releases. To cope with this a highly automated test approach is mandatory. Therefore, an important part of the System Verification work consists in development of automation for target and simulation testing covering the complete functionality.

We are currently looking for a verification professional to join our team striving to achieve high quality standards.

Responsibilities

Are you passionate about detecting and solving problems?
As part of our team, you will:
  • Review system requirements and architecture
  • Define test strategies and test plans and specify the required setups
  • Develop SW using an object-oriented automation environment for efficient testing in simulation and on target
  • Bring setups into operation and execute the defined tests
  • Document product issues and support actively their solution until final verification
  • Manage the test execution status and product quality within the assigned scope
  • Review customer documentation
  • Support resolution of customer trouble tickets by diagnosing complex HW and/or SW issues and by contributing to recommended corrective actions


Qualifications

For this position you should bring knowledge from your university education with 2 - 3 years work experience.

You have:
  • Good object-oriented SW development skills, preferably in Python, in a Linux environment
  • Very good communication skills in English
  • A structured, highly motivated, and self-organized way of working with the desire to deliver high quality artifacts
  • A cooperative and team-oriented working style with an attitude to take responsibility

It would be nice if you also had:
  • Knowledge of Ethernet and Optical Transport Network OTN functionality and related standards and products
  • German language skills or willingness to learn
