The role assumes end-to-end responsibility of BU ' s supply chain in Europe for strategic projects, as the right hand of the General Manager of Supply chain, by synchronizing the developments of headquarter specialists with the operations demand of the Control Towers to achieve excelling logistics quality trimmed to maximum efficiency.The position holder excels in combining in-depth operational logistics knowledge throughout all supply chain domains with profound IT-system knowledge and a professional business administration background to a hands-on leadership role with succession ambitions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Responsabilities:
- Manage logistics cost: Budget, forecast and control storage, freight, system and staff cost, ensuring rate discipline and cost control per dispatch site.
- Run data-driven execution performance management: Define standard KPIs, drive review cadence, and enforce corrective/preventive actions towards where required.
- Translate financial targets into operational levers: Align Control Tower setups on carrier mix, consolidation opportunities and labour productivity and process adherence.
- Manage strategic projects: Manage relevant resources across multiple entities in time and in budget from structured blueprinting via implementation to the hyper care phase.
- Deploy execution strategy: Standardize operating procedures, system architecture and governance routines, reducing site-to-site variability while leveraging efficiencies.
- Bridge headquarter and operations: Convert operational pain points into requirements, steer solution design, and coordinate cross-functional delivery through collaboration.
- Own 3PL governance and performance management: Actively manage contracts, service level agreements (incl. bonus-malus) and run business reviews to drive improvement plans, and lead escalations.
- Champion digitalization and automation: Support to scale analytics and digital process automation use cases to cut manual work and improve reliability and work efficiency.
- Co-develop and deploy the execution systems roadmap: Actively communicate the department's roadmap and support the integration fit amongst modern system capabilities and operational rollouts.
- Represent the execution vision to stakeholders: provide executive-ready narratives, align priorities, and maintain disciplined follow-up across the European network.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to the GM Supply Chain Europe: Progressively assume broader regional governance responsibilities in line with succession development.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum 10+ years experience as senior manager in leading international logistics operations teams in warehousing and distribution across multiple sites
- Profound end-to-end supply chain operations knowledge of Airfreight, Seafreight, Roadfreight, Customs, Warehousing and Recycling flows
- In-depth understanding of ERP systems (SAP S/4 HANA, Oracle), warehouse management systems (WMS, TMS) and data modelling (ETL, SQL, Power Pivot)
- Professional understanding of dangerous goods regulations (ADR, IMO, DGR)
- Advanced knowledge on customs procedures (temporary admission, Carnet ATA, EUR1)
- Process modelling experience (e.g. BPMN, Celonis, Process Mining)
- Basic understanding of European tax schemes (e.g. intrastat, intracommunity supplies)
- Mastering Microsoft O365 with a focus on MS Teams / Sharepoint / Outlook / Powerpoint
- Expert Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, ETL queries, VBA code)
- Excellent command of the English language (German and Roman languages are a plus)
- Advanced use of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Query / Power Apps / Power BI)
- Frequent and confident, yet conscious use of LLMs (AI) to support daily work processes
- Profound understanding of Robotic Process Automation (e.g. MS Power Automate / UIPath)
- Efficient and effective methods to structure and prioritize workload with reliable follow up
