About the Position

As a Senior Sales Expert (m/f/d) Defense within Cloud Services Sales, you will be responsible for driving sales of data center, hosting, housing, and cloud solutions in the BWI/German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) environment as well as within the defense industry. Your primary focus will be on deal origination, customer management, bid coordination, and the positioning of mission-critical infrastructure and platform services.

Your Responsibilities

Customer and Opportunity Management
  • Manage strategic customers in the Defense, BWI, Bundeswehr, and Public Sector environment
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the areas of data center, hosting, housing, and cloud services
  • Lead and coordinate complex proposal and bid processes
  • Build and maintain trusted customer relationships up to executive management level

Proposal and Bid Management
  • Coordinate complex proposal and tender processes
  • Align activities across Architecture, Delivery, Security, Legal, and Commercial Management teams
  • Contribute customer and market insights to internal stakeholders and organizations
  • Consolidate technical and commercial proposal components
  • Support the development of bid strategies and contractual models

Positioning of Mission-Critical Solutions
  • Position sovereign and mission-critical infrastructure services
  • Support customer workshops and technical alignment meetings
  • Communicate regulatory and security-related requirements to internal teams
  • Support the definition of operating and security models


Your Profile
  • Several years of experience (>5 years) in selling complex ICT, cloud, or data center solutions
  • Experience in the public sector, BWI/Bundeswehr environment, or the defense industry is desirable
  • Proven experience with complex bidding and procurement processes
  • Solid understanding of data center, hosting, housing, and cloud architectures
  • Understanding of requirements related to classified information (VS-NfD), security clearance regulations, and critical infrastructure (KRITIS)
  • Experience dealing with regulatory requirements of public-sector clients
  • Understanding of mission-critical operating and infrastructure models
  • Ability to communicate security-related requirements to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities
  • Willingness to develop solutions and proposals for military customers
  • Existing security clearance or willingness to undergo a security clearance process
  • Experience in expert committees, industry associations, research collaborations, or publication of technology-related topics is desirable
  • BSI IT-Grundschutz certification is desirable
  • Knowledge of sovereign cloud environments and national infrastructure initiatives
  • Understanding of the organizational structures, working methods, and core values of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr)
