We are looking for a motivated Backend Software Engineer with approximately 2-3 years of professional experience who is eager to grow in a modern cloud-native and microservices environment. You will join a cross-functional agile team, working alongside experienced engineers to develop innovative mobility solutions at Webfleet.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to strengthen your expertise in Java backend development, AWS cloud technologies, microservices architecture, DevOps practices, and the adoption of AI-powered solutions both in products and throughout the software development lifecycle.

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional agile team and actively participate in planning, refinement, and team discussions.
  • Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of new product features throughout the full software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain backend services primarily using Java technologies.
  • Support frontend-related tasks when required and collaborate closely with frontend developers.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize cloud-native microservices running on AWS infrastructure.
  • Implement, test, demonstrate, and deliver product features in an agile environment.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality and software craftsmanship.
  • Troubleshoot issues, fix bugs, improve usability, and optimize application performance.
  • Contribute to quality assurance activities, including automated testing and continuous integration practices.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, UX designers, developers, and component owners to clarify requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Learn and apply modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, monitoring, and observability tools.
  • Support the implementation of secure development practices by identifying and addressing potential security risks.
  • Explore and leverage AI technologies both within products and across the software development lifecycle to improve engineering efficiency and product capabilities.
  • Continuously expand technical knowledge and adopt new technologies, frameworks, and engineering best practices.


What We're Looking For
  • Approximately 2-3 years of professional experience in software development.
  • Experience developing backend applications using Java.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of REST APIs and distributed systems concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Exposure to microservices architecture.
  • Understanding of version control systems such as Git.
  • Knowledge of testing practices and software quality principles.
  • Interest in DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and cloud-native development.
  • Curiosity about AI technologies and their application in software products and engineering workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative agile environment.
  • Speak English fluently.


Nice to Have
  • Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms.
  • Experience with AWS services.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools.
  • Exposure to frontend technologies.
  • Experience working in Scrum or other Agile methodologies.
