JOINT OPERATIONS PLANNER (CIVILIAN CASUALTY)

About the Position:
Serves as a Joint Operations Planner and subject matter expert on civilian casualty (CIVCAS) mitigation and reporting. Ensures that civilian casualty mitigation, response, and risk assessments are seamlessly integrated into all phases of joint operational planning, targeting, and force employment across the USAFRICOM's Area of Responsibility (AOR).Qualifications:TERM APPOINTMENT: Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 3 Years. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-12 which includes 1) develop and execute joint operations plans that integrate civilian casualty (CIVCAS) mitigation strategies into crisis response; 2) manage cross-functional taskings and post-operation assessments to identify lessons learned from civilian harm incidents; 3) coordinate joint exercises and strategic engagements with interagency and non-governmental partners to validate readiness and improve operational policies.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).Education:This job does not have an education qualification requirement.Employment Type: OTHER
