Your new responsibilities
- thesis: Thermomechanical Modeling, Simulation & Machine Learning for Semiconductor Development
- target: Development of next-generation simulation and prediction methods for optoelectronic technologies such as LEDs and lasers, combining first-principles modeling with data-driven approaches.
- Investigating research questions relating to the thermomechanical modelling of semiconductor manufacturing processes, with a focus on optoelectronic technologies
- Analysing wafer processes throughout the manufacturing chain and developing models to predict wafer deformations, including wafer bow
- Combining physics-based simulation with machine learning to develop powerful predictive approaches
- Working closely with interdisciplinary teams from simulation, experimentation and development
What we look for
- Successfully completed Master's degree in thermomechanics, mechanical engineering, materials science, physics or a related field
- Interest in simulation, physical modelling and challenging technical problems
- Programming skills in Python, Fortran or a similar language, as well as an interest in machine learning
- An independent, structured approach to work and excellent English language skills
- Experience with semiconductor technologies, FEM tools or machine learning frameworks is an advantage; strong applications from related disciplines are also welcome
