Tasks

As Lead Software Engineer Data Foundation (m/f/d), you are responsible for the further development and development of software for highly complex, strategically significant data products and services, taking into account holistic business requirements and implications across the entire development lifecycle. You create a scalable, high-performance, and well-governed data foundation that enables innovation, AI, and data-driven business models to grow sustainably, and you operate at the intersection of strategy, technology, and business impact:

• You work closely with product owners in analyzing and implementing requirements and provide consulting, typically at management level
• You create and document end-to-end solution designs
• You define standards for system testing and test automation
• You install, configure, and operate software for complex, strategically important products and services and support team members during troubleshooting through to resolution
• You provide technical support for other teams regarding the supported products and services and collaborate closely with other teams in an international environment
• You coach junior team members and lead strategic projects

Profile

You are distinguished by the following knowledge and skills:

• Many years of experience in independently and reliably planning and managing new topics, including in virtual and/or international team environments
• Outstanding experience in traditional and agile collaboration models, particularly in managing and leading large-scale projects/programs
• Excellent experience in international and intercultural environments
• Excellent technological understanding and proven experience in projects involving data products with data mesh architecture and Google Cloud-based platforms
• Strong experience with a holistic perspective on data product and data mesh architectures
• Excellent knowledge in transformation and handling complex organizational structures and change processes, as well as proven experience in company-wide data transformations using a data product approach
• Excellent knowledge in data engineering, data governance, AI, machine learning, compliance, and advanced analytics
• Excellent knowledge of complex big data architectures in cloud environments
• Proven experience in scaling data products and operating models
• Confidence in dealing with top management and demanding stakeholders
• Proven experience with business outcomes and customer focus
• Intercultural experience in offshore projects
• Very good German and English skills (C1 level)

This position is also available on a part-time basis.
