Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Engineer to work on system architectures, product design, and roadmaps. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system architecture, system design, complex mechatronics, possess good communication skills, and lead system and subsystem architecture definition. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in a team setting. This candidate must be able to drive progress from full ambiguity to product design and release to production.

Basic qualifications

• \tBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields

• \t6+ years of compliance experience fielding industrial robot systems (or equivalent)

• \tExperience supporting engineering change control processes (Agile)

• \tExperience in mechanical design and management

• \tFamiliar with industry standard CAD & FEA design tools, industry trends, and design for manufacturability.

• \tExperience with the project management of technical projects

• \tExcellent written (white papers) and oral communication skills

Preferred qualifications

• \tMechatronic Systems Experience

• \tProven track record of developing products for large volume production

• \tExperience managing challenging assignments quickly

• \tProficiency with Agile Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO's

A day in the life

Key job responsibilities

• \tOwning the delivery of robotic products on time, in budget and at the targeted performance

• \tScoping, managing, and delivering multiple technical projects in parallel from concept to production

• \tWork with an interdisciplinary team to improve and maintain existing product designs including specification, design, prototyping, validation and testing

• \tWork with the Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations as well as vendors to ensure a smooth production transition of design changes

• \tWrite requirements and functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures

• \tExhibit role model behaviors of thorough engineering analysis

• \tMentor colleagues

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields

- Experience in robotics design, automation systems development, control systems design, or related product development

- Experience with Agile methods and processes

- Experience in mechanical design and management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Mechatronic Systems Experience
