We're looking for a Senior Systems Architect to join our team in Germany in a hybrid working mode. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Architect to join our practice ATP/Infrastructure & Operations practice Germany. In this client-facing role, you will advise enterprise and regulated-industry customers on modernizing and transforming their cloud, data center, virtualization and infrastructure platforms. You will lead architecture engagements covering Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud, software-defined data centers (SDDC), VMware-based private clouds and on-premises infrastructure, helping clients modernize legacy estates while ensuring resilience, security, governance and operational continuity. As a trusted advisor to CIOs, infrastructure leaders and transformation programs, you will shape both strategy and delivery across complex enterprise environments. Responsibilities Lead current-state assessments, discovery workshops, target-state architecture definition, and facilitate sessions with engineering teams, infrastructure leaders, and executive audiences Translate business, security, compliance, and resilience requirements into scalable technical solutions, ensuring architectural governance aligned to enterprise standards and regulatory expectations Design Microsoft Azure landing zones, governance models, connectivity patterns, and operational guardrails Architect hybrid cloud solutions integrating Azure with on-premises infrastructure, identity platforms, and security controls Design SDDC architectures across compute, storage, network virtualization, backup, DR, and management domains Govern VMware-based private cloud architectures including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, vSAN, HCX, SRM, and Aria/vRealize Suite Lead modernization and migration initiatives across Azure, VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, and hybrid environments, producing HLD/LLD documentation, architecture decision records, and migration strategies Provide architectural oversight across deployment, migration, and stabilization phases, acting as senior escalation point for critical platform design and implementation challenges Support migration planning for workloads into Azure, AVS, hybrid cloud, or modernized on-premises environments Support RFP/RFI responses with solution design, architecture inputs, scope framing, effort estimation, and proposal development, while identifying follow-on opportunities in cloud adoption, infrastructure modernization, and operational improvement Requirements 10+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure architecture, virtualization, SDDC and consulting Proven experience in enterprise transformation and modernization programs Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure: landing zones, hub-and-spoke networking, governance, identity, security and resilience In-depth knowledge of hybrid cloud architecture integrating Azure with on-premises platforms and enterprise identity Proven experience with VMware: vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, vSAN, HCX, SRM, Aria/vRealize Suite Practical experience with SDDC, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV and hyperconverged infrastructure platforms Expertise in AVS (Azure VMware Solution) and workload mobility Knowledge of enterprise storage, backup, business continuity and disaster recovery Familiarity with network, security, identity and governance for enterprise platforms Experience working in regulated, high-availability and mission-critical environments Consulting experience in financial services, public sector, healthcare or regulated industries Knowledge of automation and IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell or Ansible) Relevant certifications in Azure and VMware Willingness to travel to client sites Nice to have Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud strategies Familiarity with cloud cost governance and FinOps Contribution to thought leadership, whitepapers or technical assets Public speaking experience at industry events or conferences
