Head of Product Development (m/f/d) - chargeBIG

Your Contribution

As Head of Product Development (m/f/d) - chargeBIG, you take overall technical responsibility for chargeBIG, including steering product development and continuously optimizing the product portfolio.

• Acting as the technical lead and central point of contact for customers across all organizational levels - from operational teams to C-level executives
• Active support of chargeBIG's business development during the scale-up phase
• Further development of the organization as well as building capabilities and enhancing the performance of interdisciplinary teams in software, hardware, mechanics, prototyping, and testing
• Identification and implementation of efficiency measures, such as make-or-buy decisions, AI-supported coding and analytics, test automation, and modern development methods
• Close collaboration with the chargeBIG leadership team and structured reporting to MAHLE New Venture Management and the Steering Committee

Your Experience and Qualifications

• Completed degree in electrical engineering or a comparable technical field of study
• Several years of leadership experience
• Strong understanding of electronic hardware and software development
• Solid knowledge of the charging infrastructure market as well as relevant technology and innovation trends
• Sound understanding of the EV charging infrastructure ecosystem and the regulatory landscape (including AFIR, MID, Eichrecht, CE conformity, OCPP, CRA)
• Goal-oriented and inspiring working style, characterized by high flexibility and confidence in dealing with ambiguity
• Strong intrapreneurial mindset and a hands-on approach in a dynamic growth environment
• Clear identification with and consistent application of the MAHLE Leadership Principles
• Very good communication skills in both German and English, combined with intercultural competence
