ICT Transition User Support Coordinator - Temporary Staff
Description:
In view of the nature and of the urgency of the temporary positions we are looking to fill, it is important for candidates to be available for temporary employment on short notice. In practice, this implies either being in possession of a valid NATO security clearance at the time of application or having been in possession of such a clearance with the possibility to reactivate it swiftly or already being in the process of obtaining a NATO security clearance that is expected to be granted shortly. We therefore only encourage applications for temporary positions from candidates who meet one of the above requirements.
This post is intended to bridge a gap to recruiting a project-linked 3-year post for which the successful candidate for this temporary post may also apply at a later date.
Post Context
Headquarters JSEC provides a resilient operational-level Joint Headquarters, capable of supporting 24/7 operations to coordinate enablement (at the operational level) and, on order, the execution of reinforcement by forces (RbyFo) and sustainment flow in order to contribute to the Alliance's ability to project and sustain combat power into, across and from the Area of Responsibility (AOR), and, if required, into a Joint Operations Area (JOA).
The Support Directorate (SPT) is responsible for providing cross-functional expertise in Supply and Services, HNS Military Engineering (MILENG), Medical Support, Maintenance, CIS, Human Resources (HR) matters and Logistics Information Management.
The J6 Division is responsible for developing and implementing policy, plans and procedures for CIS and Information Assurance (IA).
The Communications and Information Systems Branch is responsible for providing CIS as well as service status, spectrum and network management, implementing CIS engineering requirements for exercises and operations.
Principal Duties
The incumbent's duties are:

Support JSEC users in the ICT transition as tactical level technical coordinator.

Coordination of JSEC user support and asset management (for the JSEC end user equipment) in close cooperation with the respective User Help Desk:
- SINA Asset Management
i. SINA token and card handling within the HQ
ii. port activation / deactivation from HN ICT support
iii. relocation of ICT equipment within the HQ
iv. on the spot troubleshooting on malfunctioned HW (creation of CIS tickets)
b. BWI phone management
i. coordination with HN's CIS provider BWI
ii. maintaining the phone register for JSEC
iii. the port activation / deactivation from HN IT support
iv. the relocation of IT equipment within the HQ
v. on the spot troubleshooting on malfunctioned HW (creation of CIS tickets)
c. Assistance in Exercise user support with
I. the NCIA Support Office in all matters regarding NCIA CIS provision to JSEC users
II. short notice layout changes in EX / OPS buildings

- Network administrator for JSEC provided Open Internet
- Network trouble shooting
- Cable patching
- POC for coordination/issue resolution with service providers (Telekom and BWI)
Essential Qualifications
1. Secondary or Higher Secondary Education with 5 years of post-related experience
2. Inherent ICT understanding
3. CISCO network administration skills (small LAN)
4. Good English skills, SLP 3333 - (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)
NOTE: The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English.
Desirable Qualifications
1. German language skills preferred (SLP 2222 - limited working level)
7. Contract
a. The selected candidate will initially be offered a contract of six (6) months, with the option of extending it to an additional up to six (6) months, subject to satisfactory performance and continued operational need.
b. Salary: Grossmonthly salary is EURO 5,260.65which is subject to taxation.Temporary personnel are responsible for acquitting themselves of their responsibilities for the payment of taxes.
c. Benefits package: Temporary Staff are covered by a benefit package which consists of pension contributions by the Organization (12% of basic salary), medical and accident benefits (death and invalidity) provided under the NATO Group insurance contract, and paid leave of 2.5 days per month worked. For staff eligible under NATO rules, there is also a dependent child allowance and coverage for dependent children for medical benefits.
d. It is a condition of employment that before a temporary staff member can be appointed, the Organization must have received a security clearance certificate (minimum NATO Secret) from the government of the country or countries of which they are national.
8. Notes for Candidates

c. A Selection Board will assess all applications and agree on the candidates to be invited for a final interview.
d.
