Consulting Manager (m/f/d) Data & AI Strategy
Who/What is Artefact?
Artefact is a next-generation strategy and data consulting firm dedicated to transforming organizations through data and AI. We combine the rigor of top-tier strategy consulting with deep expertise in data, digital, and analytics to help clients achieve tangible business impact. With 2,000+ consultants, data scientists, and engineers across 26 countries, we work with global leaders such as Samsung, L'Oreal, Orange, and Sanofi. At our German offices, we are on a rapid growth trajectory, advising leading national and international clients cross-industry on how to unlock the full potential of their data, build scalable data architectures, and implement cutting-edge AI solutions.
As a Consulting Manager (m/f/d) Data & AI Strategy, you will act as a trusted sparring partner to executives, steer complex transformation programs across functions, and drive organizational change at scale.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead AI Transformation Programs: Steer end-to-end execution of enterprise-level AI transformations. Identify internal champions, navigate corporate politics, manage structural blockers, and drive measurable user adoption and organizational change.
- Strategy & AI Use Case Scoping: Work closely with C-level stakeholders to answer high-stakes questions: How can AI reshape their business models? How should they govern data? You don't just advise; you help evaluate model choices, discuss data privacy trade-offs, and conceptualize technical feasibility.
- Drive Business Growth: Actively drive the growth of our German practice. Take ownership in lead generation and pipeline conversion by engaging prospective clients, shaping proposals, and leading pre-sales and key-account expansion initiatives.
- Thought Leadership & Advocacy: Represent Artefact's AI Transformation perspective externally. Advance our voice in enterprise AI through expert discussions, content creation (e.g. LinkedIn, whitepapers), and opinionated, hands-on perspectives on applied AI trends and real-world adoption pathways.
- Advance the Practice: Evolve our methodologies, tools, and frameworks to keep our offering state-of-the-art. Develop reusable transformation playbooks and bring your strategic consulting or technology expertise into the team.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: Act as a senior advisor and role model - leading, coaching, and mentoring agile, hybrid project teams (consultants, data scientists, and engineers), fostering a fast-paced, "can-do" culture.
Candidate Profile
At our heart, we define ourselves by a culture of ownership, intellectual curiosity, and cooperation. We are looking for driven, capable talents who bring strong motivation and curiosity for new challenges. You are a true team player, eager to support others while scaling both the company and your own career.
- Work Experience: You have approximately 5-8 years of full-time working experience in top-tier management consulting, technology consulting, or strategic corporate in-house roles. A proven track record of successfully leading and delivering data, analytics, or AI-driven transformation projects is essential.
- Transformation & Change Management: Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional transformation programs, with the ability to manage executive stakeholders, navigate corporate politics, and embed AI capabilities within client organizations.
- AI Fluency & "Builder Mindset": Strong fluency in modern and applied AI (e.g., GenAI, LLMs, agentic systems, automated workflows). While you don't need to be a full-time programmer, you have a hands-on understanding and can credibly demo working AI concepts and discuss data privacy and technical constraints.
- Analytical & Technical Acumen: Knowledge about common machine learning techniques, cloud architectures, and data management principles. Excellent quantitative skills to draw strategic insights from complex data sets.
- Communication & Presence: Outstanding communication, presentation, and moderation skills. You have a strong presence and can translate complex technical topics into compelling arguments for non-technical senior executives, as well as bridge the gap to technical execution teams.
- Education: Excellent academic track record with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, Business Informatics, Physics, Mathematics, or a comparable quantitative field.
- Languages: Business-fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is mandatory to successfully advise our German clients and lead workshops. Additional languages are a plus.
- Work Eligibility: A valid work permit for Germany.
