Project / Department Overview
The role supports IT projects by performing risk and quality management activities across medium-sized and complex project environments. The position involves working closely with project managers, project sponsors, and other stakeholders to ensure that risks are identified, assessed, controlled, and reported properly, while also supporting quality assurance and project governance processes.
The Expert Business Integration specialist contributes to the successful planning, steering, and delivery of digitalization and IT projects by ensuring structured risk management, quality management, documentation review, and continuous improvement of project-related processes.
Responsibilities
The Expert Business Integration specialist will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Perform risk and quality management within IT projects.
- Continuously analyze and identify potential project risks.
- Identify dependencies with other projects and programs.
- Assess risks both quantitatively and qualitatively.
- Define, implement, and monitor risk mitigation measures.
- Report and maintain risks in predefined risk management tools, such as R2C or comparable systems.
- Independently develop and present recommended actions, including proper follow-up and controlling.
- Plan, organize, and conduct risk workshops.
- Support the further development of quality improvement measures within projects.
- Plan and perform quality management activities.
- Continuously review own activities and project deliverables in line with internal project and quality guidelines.
- Support project managers and project sponsors in the execution of quality gates.
- Organize, moderate, and document project review meetings.
- Review project results and project documentation from a technical and content perspective.
- Check consistency, completeness, and traceability of project documentation.
- Support project managers in the planning and steering of medium-sized and complex projects.
- Contribute to change management documentation and quality assurance activities.
- Work with project management tools such as Jira, MS Office, and MS Project.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in business administration, business informatics, computer science, or another IT-related field.
- Alternatively, completed commercial vocational training or recognized IT vocational training combined with relevant professional experience.
- If no university degree is available, at least 10 years of relevant professional experience is required.
- Knowledge of common project management standards.
- Certification in project management, such as IPMA Level D or an equivalent certification.
Required Professional Experience
The candidate should have:
- At least 4 years of experience as a project team member or consultant in the field of digitalization.
- At least 3 years of experience in project leadership.
- At least 4 years of experience in risk management.
- At least 4 years of experience using risk management tools, such as R2C or comparable tools.
- At least 4 years of experience in quality management, especially in:
- Technical and content-related review of project documents.
- Change management documentation.
- Supporting projects during quality gates.
- Checking consistency and traceability of project documentation.
- Further development of quality assurance measures.
- At least 4 years of experience working with Jira or comparable tools.
- At least 4 years of experience with Microsoft Office.
- Practical knowledge of MS Project.
Language Requirements
- German: C1 level according to CEFR.
- English: B1 level according to CEFR.
Proof of language skills may be provided through a certificate, reference, self-declaration, or equivalent evidence. Native speakers are exempt from providing separate proof for the respective language.
Project Reference Requirements
If project references are required, they should include the following information:
- Industry
- Project title
- Short project description
- Service period in month/year format
- FTE allocation
- Detailed description of the candidate's tasks and responsibilities in the project
Project references should only be considered if the assignment lasted at least 6 months and the candidate was assigned with at least 0.6 FTE.
