Your Tasks
As a member of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1441 TrackAct (Tracking the Active Site in Heterogeneous Catalysis for Emission Control, www.trackact.kit.edu), funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), you focus on the following activities in close collaboration with our partner institutes:
• Investigations of adsorption and reactions of NH 3 , CH 4 , and VOC molecules with pristine and noble metal (Pt, Pd, Ru)-deposited oxide (CeO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , TiO 2 ) single-crystal surfaces using IR spectroscopy
• Spectroscopic analysis and comprehensive characterization of structured noble metal-based oxide catalysts for emission control applications
• Application of a multiscale approach combining polarization-resolved IRRAS with in situ UHV-FTIRS and operando DRIFTS, complemented by high-resolution XPS and NEXAFS analyses
• Contribution to the preparation of scientific manuscripts and presentation of research results at international conferences and seminars.

Your Profile
- A university degree (Master) in chemistry or physics
- Solid knowledge in the field of surface science and catalysis
- Working experience with advanced surface analysis methods is an advantage
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work in a team
