The department "Labor Relations & Tariff Policy" is responsible for collective bargaining policy and strategy as well as employment conditions for various business units of Deutsche Post DHL Group. In this context, we represent the employer's interests, particularly towards trade unions, and conduct negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

Industrial Relations Specialist (m/f/d)

Support of collective bargaining negotiations for assigned group companies, including comprehensive preparation and follow-up, as well as holistic advisory services to management on labor and collective law matters in the context of collective bargaining agreements.

  • Preparation of collective bargaining negotiations
    • Identification and evaluation of potential union demands and negotiation risks (e.g. strike impacts) based on market and environmental analyses
    • Preparation and discussion of negotiation strategies within the collective bargaining team
    • Organization of preparatory meetings with group companies and internal subject matter experts
  • Support during collective bargaining negotiations
    • Co-moderation of initial and follow-up meetings with trade unions and the respective group company
    • Conducting negotiations in line with the agreed negotiation strategy in cooperation with the lead negotiator
    • Achieving negotiation outcomes while safeguarding the company's interests and objectives as part of the negotiation team
    • Advising and supporting group companies during warning strike measures
  • Follow-up of collective bargaining negotiations
    • Drafting the collective bargaining agreement text and registering it in the collective agreement register
    • Preparation of communication measures for internal stakeholders, including communication of results to top management
  • Point of contact for group companies for interpretation issues and general legal questions in the context of collective agreements

Professional Qualifications:

  • Completed law degree (Second State Examination) as a fully qualified lawyer, ideally with a focus on labor law and/or relevant specialist legal training
  • Above-average (distinction) exam results are an advantage
  • Several years of professional experience in individual and collective labor law, gained in a corporate legal department or a specialized law firm
  • Experience in conducting negotiations, ideally within collective bargaining contexts
  • Very strong knowledge of individual and collective labor law
  • Excellent German and good English language skills
