THE ROLE
We are looking for a strategic yet hands-on Senior Manufacturing & Assembly Manager to own the lifecycle of our electronic hardware production. In this central role, you connect engineering, operations, and product teams across our portfolio and serve as the primary interface with our EMS providers - ensuring every build, test, and assembly step is precise, reliable, and cost-efficient.
You combine strong management skills with genuine passion and solid expertise in IoT technology - from Linux servers and environments to network topology and deployment. With creativity and a hands-on mentality, you shape the architecture of our entire production ecosystem: from first prototype through production to field-ready solutions.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- MS Partner Management: Act as the technical negotiator and operational point of contact for EMS providers'. You drive yield and production-line improvements, cost optimizations, and day-to-day alignment on quality, timelines, and delivery.
- Production Infrastructure: Integrate our production-line into the EMS providers' IT infrastructure. You ensure our automated testing, flashing, calibration, and assembly workflows run reliably within the EMS setup and can be adapted as products evolve.
- Production Line Quality Testing: Design and oversee the implementation of automated production line testing, including functional and EOL tests. Define test coverage, pass/fail criteria, and automation strategy for validating electronics and final device assembly.
- Assembly Coordination: Coordinate how our multi-component IoT systems come together - from individual boards and modules to finished, field-ready solutions. Keep the assembly flows efficient, and spot where manual steps can be replaced with smart automation on the line.
- DFM (Design for Manufacturing): Provide a feedback loop to our engineering - hardware & software - teams to improve manufacturability, testability, and assembly efficiency in an early stage.
- Economic Strategy: Analyze trade-offs between unit costs, tooling investments, and lead times to ensure our scaling is financially sustainable.
YOUR PROFILE
- Background: Degree in Industrial Engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen), TUM BWL or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Technical Foundation: Hands-on expertise in IoT production environments - Linux servers, network topology, deployment, and device calibration. You are comfortable working in EMS and production line setups where hardware, software, and infrastructure need to work together reliably.
- The Connector: Excellent communication and organizational skills. You work effectively across engineering, operations, and product teams, align stakeholders around production goals, and maintain productive, long-term EMS relationships - especially when quality or timelines are under pressure.
- Systems Thinker: You understand the "logic" of hardware/software interaction - you know how firmware flashing, calibration, and final assembly impact the production timeline.
- Operational Mindset: You are hands-on and come with a "get-it-done" attitude. You enjoy the challenge of coordinating multi-step logistics and assembly processes.
- Languages: Fluent in English and German (essential for managing local and international supplier relationships).
- (Bonus) Experience: Technical experience in hardware production and assembly processes including EOL testing.
