Our client, a dynamic new casual dining and takeaway restaurant with an Asian and Japanese menu, is seeking two experienced Chinese Wok Chefs for their Berlin location. Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of Chinese culinary techniques, particularly in wok cooking, and the ability to work across diverse Asian cuisines. Responsibilities: - Masterfully prepare a variety of Chinese dishes using a wok, adhering to traditional techniques and the restaurant's unique recipes. - Contribute to the menu's diversity, offering traditional Chinese favorites and innovative Asian fusion dishes. - Ensure ingredient freshness and uphold the restaurant's high standards for food safety and hygiene. - Collaborate with the culinary team to innovate and develop new menu items. - Efficiently manage inventory and supplies, minimizing waste. Requirements - Minimum 5 years of experience in Chinese cuisine, with a strong foundation in wok cooking techniques and knowledge of Asian ingredients. - Proficiency in preparing a wide range of dishes using a wok, managing inventory, and ensuring all ingredients meet quality standards. - Skilled in accurately costing menu items to align with financial targets. - Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced restaurant environment. - Basic English skills for reading and communication, with the ability to work effectively in a team setting. - Familiarity with standard culinary measurements, volumes, and procedures. - Responsibility for maintaining kitchen operations to meet quality standards, including ordering supplies from vendors. - A positive and professional demeanor towards colleagues and guests is essential.
