About the project/Role description

The project is planning the expansion of the existing Hamburg Refinery, by adding the following process units and facilities: HVO Unit, pre-treatment Unit, tank farm balance (tanks partially supplied by others), interconnecting lines, new electrical substation and rack room, interconnecting cables between new substation building and existing substation and control room.

Each Supervisor reports to the Construction Manager.

They direct Subcontractor activities for electrical engineering, ensuring that Plant Construction works are performed according to the erection schedules and Project documents, within the assigned cost budget, and according to Quality & Safety procedures, as well as according to the terms and conditions of the subcontract.

One or more assistants to whom they may delegate some functions, may support them.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Prior to the start of works, to check the Supplier's material and technical documentation delivery schedule. Check that the same is in line with Construction schedules and contractual commitments;
  • To check that the said schedule is kept to, and to promote action to recover any delay;
  • To check that the equipment and manpower employed by the Subcontractor are adequate and that the works performed by the Subcontractor conform to design documents, Safety regulations, and to the Quality level fixed by the same;
  • To prepare the non-conformity register for each Subcontractor and co-ordinate non-conformity resolution;
  • To detect any design errors, and where possible rectify the same or request the Site Engineer to make the necessary changes;
  • To check Subcontractors' work progress status sheets and sign the same for approval;
  • To manage vendor specialists;
  • To assist the Contract Engineer in defining new prices, in preparing amendments to subcontracts and in analysing and discussing claims.


Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications
  • University Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent

Experience
  • Similar role covered at least in last three projects of comparable size;
  • Proven past experience on electrical supervision activities;
  • Strong knowledge of SPMAT (Marian);
  • Relevant experience in construction/modernisation of industrial/Refinery sector/EPC projects large plants;
  • At least 5 years of experience in the specific discipline;
  • Experience working on Contractor side.

  • Fluent English;
  • Excellent IT and analytical skills;
  • Excellent communications, team-oriented and interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to details;
  • Self-motivation and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.

Compensation

For this position, the starting gross annual salary, paid for monthly installments, will be no less than €65,000+benefit.

The overall compensation package will be governed by company policies and applicable agreements, including any provisions related to benefits and variable components in compliance with the Group standards.

The Company reserves the right, at the end of the selection process, to make an offer with a job classification level and/or gross annual salary different from those indicated in this job posting, in line with the candidate's professional experience and competencies.
