Join CDTM - the joint institute of LMU and TU Munich - as a fully funded doctoral candidate and co-manager of one of Europe's leading innovation education programs, shaping courses, strategy, and research on a topic you choose, starting September 2026.
CDTM has educated interdisciplinary innovators for over 27 years, producing founders who have built companies worth over €8 billion. This role combines co-running one of Europe's leading innovation education programs with a fully funded doctorate on a topic of your choice.
What you'll do
Education - Design and run your own program format end-to-end, from syllabus to delivery.
Operations - Student recruiting, international partnerships, and new collaborations.
Strategy - Shape curriculum, governance, and long-term direction.
Research - Pursue a doctorate supervised by a CDTM Board Professor at LMU or TUM. Topic is yours to choose.
The four-year position leans toward CDTM responsibilities in years 1-2.5, then shifts toward completing your dissertation.
What you need
A completed Master's degree in technology, business, social sciences, design, or a related field. Genuine interest in a doctorate. The motivation to take ownership and shape an organisation, not just occupy a role.
What strengthens your application
Experience in product management, consulting, research, venture capital, or software engineering. A background in startups, universities, or mission-driven organisations. Comfort with ambiguity and autonomy.
