2D Retoucher - Automotive (all genders)

As a mid to senior 2D Retoucher, you are the guardian of visual excellence and realism. You turn strong source material into polished, premium imagery with a sharp eye for detail, consistency, and craft. From paint surfaces and reflections to materials, proportions, and finishing touches: if it appears in the final asset, it needs to feel flawless, believable, and brand-right.

You combine outstanding retouching skills with a strong interest in new technologies and AI-supported workflows. You know how to elevate visuals without overprocessing them, and you understand how to balance creative ambition, technical precision, and efficient delivery - especially in automotive environments, where quality standards are high and details matter.

What You'll Do:

• Own high-end 2D retouching and compositing across still imagery - from raw input to final delivery.
• Create premium, photoreal retouching work with a strong focus on automotive visuals, including bodywork, paint, reflections, glass, wheels, interiors, shadows, and environmental integration.
• Refine and enhance imagery for campaigns, product communication, launches, and brand content while maintaining accuracy, realism, and consistency.
• Work closely with Art Direction, Creative, CGI, Post-Production, and AI-related teams to deliver visuals that meet both creative and technical expectations.
• Use Photoshop at an expert level for compositing, cleanup, finishing, grading, masking, detailing, and final image polish.
• Explore and apply AI-supported retouching workflows where they improve speed, consistency, scalability, or creative possibilities - without compromising quality.
• Help assess, test, and integrate new AI tools and smart production workflows into the retouching pipeline.
• Ensure all output meets brand guidelines, file specifications, production requirements, and delivery standards.
• Handle multiple assets and feedback rounds with a structured, calm, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Support quality control by checking consistency across image sets, campaigns, and product details.
• Collaborate across departments and external partners to keep production moving efficiently, even under tight deadlines.
• Contribute to process improvements, retouching standards, asset organization, templates, and smarter workflow solutions.

What You Bring:

• Strong professional experience as a 2D Retoucher, ideally in an agency, post-production studio, production environment, or in-house creative team.
• Excellent command of Adobe Photoshop and a deep understanding of high-end image retouching, compositing, and finishing.
• A strong visual eye for detail, lighting, materials, color, contrast, realism, and premium surface treatment.
• A clear passion for car retouching / automotive imagery, with a strong understanding of what makes automotive visuals look high-end, credible, and aspirational.
• Confidence working on premium still assets with high craft expectations and tight quality standards.
• Interest in AI tools and AI-enhanced image workflows; practical experience with such tools would be a strong advantage.
• Comfortable working with large asset volumes, layered files, structured feedback processes, and demanding timelines.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work closely with Creative, CGI, Production, and AI teams.
• A structured, proactive, and reliable way of working, with strong communication skills and a good sense of ownership.
• Fluent English is required; German or other European languages are a plus, but not a must.
• Portfolio required - ideally including automotive retouching work, premium key visuals, and before/after examples where possible.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with AI-based image generation, enhancement, masking, upscaling, clean-up, or workflow automation.
• Understanding of CGI-based workflows and confidence working with rendered source material.
• Basic knowledge of moving assets, motion design, or film/post-production workflows would be a plus.
• Experience in luxury, automotive, product communication, or other visually demanding brand categories.
• Familiarity with color pipelines, file preparation for cross-channel delivery, and production-ready asset handover.
