OBJECTIVE AND MAIN TASK OF THE FUNCTION

This position provides on-site and clinical application support to customers within the assigned territory, to ensure clinical excellence, optimal technical adoption of ICL technologies, and scientific development within the region by delivering specialized training, advanced clinical application support, and technical advisory services to surgeons and clinical teams.

TASKS

Deliver on-site and remote product training to surgeons (MDs), optometrists (ODs), and clinical staff.

Lead ICL certification processes and perform proctoring when required.

Conduct educational workshops and clinical training sessions at designated centers.

Support surgeons throughout their learning curve to ensure proper clinical application of ICL technology.

Support surgeons and clinic teams in practice development initiatives, including optimization of patient pathways, workflow efficiency, patient education, and overall patient journey to enhance clinical outcomes and maximize adoption and patient satisfaction

Provide technical support for ICL power calculations, complex medical inquiries and advanced complaints, when required. Contact person for follow up with certain complex complaints and/or medical inquiries from Iberia.

Follow and update on clinical material provided by FMA that is appropriate for German and Austrian market for adoption of ICL and drive volume.

Follow with Medical, Marketing, and Regulatory/MLR teams to ensure market-specific scientific content.

Participates in the identification of potential sites and customers.

Conducts & performs customer site visits as required, including site visit report writing and frequent field team communication.

Facilitate and support clinical adoption of new products and innovations to customers.

Independently monitors the progress of assigned sites by maintaining close contact with surgeons, optometrists, and site personnel.

Works closely with other team of STAAR Germany and Austria in the coordination of business activities to meet the annual objectives within the territory.

Attends regional and national medical conferences as assigned.

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience. Optometrist background is strongly preferred.

Special Knowledge

  • Mother tongue German, and proficient in English (spoken and written), any other language is a plus
  • Strong knowledge about Optic and Refraction
  • Excellent communication skills to team and customers
  • Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
