Senior Data Architect / Senior Analytics Engineer (m/f/x)
We are looking for a Senior Data Architect / Senior Analytics Engineer (m/f/x) who will own and drive our entire data landscape.
This is not a traditional engineering role focused on implementing predefined requirements. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of Data as a company-wide capability and helps shape how data creates value across the business.
You will define how data is collected, structured, governed and used across the company. Working closely with Product, Engineering and Leadership, you'll identify opportunities where data can improve products, automate processes, enable better decision-making, and support scalable growth.
This role combines strategic ownership with hands-on execution. You'll design our data architecture, define standards and best practices, build data models and pipelines, implement analytics solutions, and continuously evolve our data platform. In a small, fast-moving company, you'll have the autonomy to shape our data strategy while being deeply involved in building and delivering it yourself.
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, driving cross-functional initiatives, and turning data into a strategic asset for the entire organization.
Requirements
Your Mission
- Own the design and evolution of our end-to-end data architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability
- Define and implement data modeling standards, including domain models, schemas, and data contracts across the organization
- Architect and optimize modern data pipelines (batch and real-time), ensuring robust and high-quality data flow across systems
- Build and evolve our core data platform (warehouse/lakehouse), balancing performance, cost, scalability, and simplicity
- Establish strong data quality, observability, and governance practices to ensure trusted and consistent data across the company
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable and well-structured data architectures
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Leadership to align data architecture with product and business strategy
- Enable self-serve analytics by designing clean, well-structured datasets and semantic layers
- Act as a hands-on builder: design, implement, and maintain core data systems yourself while also setting direction and standards for the overall data landscape
- Leverage automation and AI where it meaningfully improves development speed, data reliability, and insight generation
- Continuously evaluate, introduce, and apply modern data technologies, architectures, and best practices where they create real impact
Your Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Several years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Architect, or similar role, ideally in fast-paced or high-growth environments ( experience in regulated environments/healthcare would be a plus)
- Strong expertise in SQL, Phyton, and modern Cloud Data Warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Postgres ...) as well as modern data architectures
- Proven experience in data modelling and managing data-intensive systems (Star/Snowflake, ideally data build tool experience)
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Metabase, Looker)
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data quality, and data governance principles
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Experience with integrating AI Tools in the Daily Workflow (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams
- Fluent in English; German is a strong plus
