This isn't your regular job. Almedia is a place where those who want to push harder can accelerate their careers faster than anywhere else. We're aiming to become Germany's second bootstrapped unicorn. Almedia is already Europe's #3 fastest-growing company in 2025 (FT1000).

We are building the future of marketing by rewarding our community of over 70 million users for engaging with our advertisers' products. We are offering a new way to acquire users for the biggest companies in the world.

At Almedia, you'll:

  • Own way more, way earlier - you'll be trusted with responsibility fast.

  • Push harder, get further - this isn't a 9-5. We highly reward intensity.

  • Join a rare environment - you will work with ambitious high-speed, high-ownership people.

  • Fully present - we're 5 days a week in the office to build the energising momentum we need.

We're looking for a Director of Finance, M&A to accelerate Almedia's growth by leading high-impact strategic transactions and broader finance initiatives. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who can move from sourcing and evaluating opportunities to building investor-ready materials and supporting capital market conversations.

This role sits at the intersection of M&A execution, strategic finance, and capital raising support. You will help Almedia assess build-vs-buy opportunities, run transaction processes, evaluate financial impact, and support external financing discussions with rigorous analysis and clear communication.

You won't just analyze deals - you will be a key partner in shaping how Almedia approaches acquisitions, financing, and strategic growth.

Salary:

What You'll Do

  • Lead M&A and Strategic Finance Projects: Own strategic transaction work from initial assessment through execution support, including opportunity evaluation, financial analysis, deal structuring, and internal recommendation materials.

  • Support Capital Raising and External Finance Workstreams: Help prepare materials and analysis for conversations with equity and debt investors, translating company performance into clear, credible financial narratives.

  • Build Decision-Grade Financial Analysis: Develop and maintain high-quality financial models, valuation frameworks, scenario analyses, and benchmarking to support both buy-side and broader strategic finance decisions.

  • Drive End-to-End Process Quality: Create structured, repeatable approaches for diligence, valuation, and transaction execution so leadership can move quickly with confidence.

  • Partner Cross-Functionally on Strategic Topics: Work closely with leadership and key stakeholders to understand the business, assess strategic opportunities, and connect financial analysis to broader company priorities.

  • Operate as a Hands-On Owner: This is not a purely managerial role. You will be expected to work directly in the details, build the materials yourself, and independently push complex workstreams forward.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong Transaction and Finance Skill Set: You bring a solid foundation in M&A, corporate finance, transaction execution, and valuation, and can apply that rigor in a fast-moving operating environment.

  • Experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, or Similar: You likely come from private equity, investment banking, or another high-performance finance environment with strong exposure to transactions and capital markets.

  • Hands-On Modeling and Analytical Rigor: You are comfortable building robust financial models yourself and can pressure-test assumptions with a high degree of independence.

  • Commercial and Strategic Judgment: You can connect financial analysis to business reality and help assess opportunities in the context of company strategy.

  • Clear Communication: You can distill complex financial topics into simple, actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders, leadership, and external investors.

  • High Ownership and Execution Drive: You are proactive, practical, and willing to go deep into the details to get the work done.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • You thrive in a hands-on strategic finance role rather than a purely managerial finance position.

  • You are excited by the combination of M&A, capital raising support, and broad strategic projects.

  • You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth company and working closely with senior stakeholders.

  • You bring the technical depth of a strong finance background, but also the adaptability and ownership mindset needed in a startup environment.

  • You want to help build finance and transaction capabilities, not just inherit a fully formed function.

Why Almedia?

  • Own Our Growth: We offer all Berlin-based employees equity in Almedia to truly be a part of our success.

  • Scale With Almedia: Grow alongside a startup that has been profitable from day one.

  • Central Berlin Office: Work from a fully-stocked modern office built for collaboration, accessible from all around Berlin.

  • Other Benefits: Transport subsidy, breakfasts and lunches, language learning, Urban Sports Club, and more.

We believe in fostering talent, evaluating all skill levels during the hiring process, and providing a clear path for growth. Almedia is an equal opportunity employer. We embrace and celebrate diversity, and encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply.
