M.Sc. physics, chemistry or material science (f/m/d)

Your Tasks

• Developing a detector platform to integrate MMCs at existing cutting-edge synchrotron beamlines (e.g., X-SPEC at the KIT Light Source)
• Developing and characterizing infrared blocking filters with high transmission in the soft and hard x-ray range
• Presenting your results at international conferences and publishing them in peer-review journals
• Performing soft and hard electron and x-ray spectroscopy experiments on applied material systems, e.g., for catalysis, using various beamlines of the KIT Light Source

Your Profile

• Master's degree in physics, chemistry, material science, or related field
• Hands-on experience with ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems
• Ideally familiar with soft and hard x-ray and electron spectroscopies
• Enthusiasm for team-based and interdisciplinary science, with a focus on detector development and applied materials systems
• Good English skills (written and spoken)
