Coordinator (f/m/d) Research Infrastructure "KIAOS"

Your Tasks

  • You will be responsible for the setup, operation, and strategic and conceptual development of KIAOS.
  • You will coordinate the KIAOS team of technical staff (data management, software development, instrument integration) and, in doing so, improve interfaces to modeling, data assimilation, and AI-based analysis, as well as research data management.
  • Together with other scientists, you will support and coordinate scientific campaigns in the field and in the laboratory.
  • You will actively participate in the acquisition, management, and coordination of third-party funded projects related to KIAOS.
  • You will monitor the KIAOS budget and the achievement of agreed-upon milestones, and ensure reporting tailored to the relevant audiences both internally and externally.
  • You will represent KIAOS within KIT, in the Helmholtz Association, and at professional events, and strengthen national and international networking.
  • You will ensure an attractive public image and support the establishment of the "KIAOS" brand.


Your Profile

  • A master's degree and a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field
  • Several years of experience in scientific organization, project management, and the operation or administration of large research infrastructures
  • Experience in organizing scientific measurement campaigns and in research data management, ideally also in the application of machine learning methods
  • Expertise in working with complex measurement infrastructures and scientific standards
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English
  • The ability to effectively integrate scientific and technical issues
